I am the only son in my family and I was consider the youngest. My father is an ex-fire brigade officer and my mother was a Quran teacher. I was born in Alor Setar but I was raised in Muar. Muar is a nice place to grow. I have a lot of friends back then, well actually I miss my childhood life there. Muar is a peaceful place to live, situated at the north of Johor. Muar is where history was preserve. Muar in the olden days was a capital of Johor until the capital was moved to it's current location. Muar grew from a port city to a modern city today. The famous features of Muar is Muar River because in Malaysia there are a few city located near a river. Muar is famous by it's Mosque khown as Masjid Jamek Muar build around 1927 and believe to be one of the oldest and the biggest mosque in Johor. This beutiful mosque was build after the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Abu Bakar. Most shop in Muar are build after the world war two and the architecture is been preserve until today. The city of Muar is called Bandar Maharani, name after the empress Maharani, Sultan Abu Bakar's wife. Muar also famous by it's Kubu Bentayan where the last battle takes place between the Malacca Sultanate and the portuguese army.
Muar also famous for it's food and one of them is Mee Bandung Muar and Kerepek Ubi Pedas. Other than that is Satay Muar. Satay Muar is different than Satay Kajang in term of size and its original taste because Satay Muar is cooked manually and the beef also comes from local kampung rather than Satay Kajang. Satay Muar also is serve in the morning during breakfast along with nasi lemak, mee rebus and beverages. Beside the food Muar also famous for it's coffee, the name of the coffee is 434. This coffee is famous because during pre-Merdeka period the british ruler love to drink this coffee and the coffee became famous until today. During my school years where I study at Saint Andrew school until form four I had many friends back then. St Andrew is one of the famous school in Muar and one of the oldest, the origin can be trace since 1929. Most of the building are from the british era.
Today Muar is evolve into a modern city where all the heritage is been polish and mantain. Sometimes I spend my vacation there and all those great memories come to life onces again. I will adore Muar as long as I live and I will cherish every moment during staying in Muar. Please do check the picture in my blog to learn more about Muar.
